Compassionate Care for Your Mind, Body, Spirit
The written sutras of the Buddhist tradition are rich with bodhisattvas--individuals who reach enlightenment and choose to remain as part of the great human experience to help others also reach the state of bliss. One such bodhisattva is the Earth Holder, or protector of the Earth. The role of the Earth Holder is to further communication and compassion between humans and the other species on earth. Earth Holders work to preserve this green and blue planet for living beings by taking care of the air, water, and soil. I invite you to become the hands and arms of this bodhisattva, to become Earth Holders, in order to protect and preserve the Earth for future generations.
Over the hundreds of millions of years that life has graced this planet, animals and plants have been competing for food and space and have been trying not to wind up being something else's meal. This competition has led to increased specialization in natural life forms. Every species is slightly different from the next, with fascinating adaptations millions of years in the making, and each fits into intricately balanced relationships with its fellow organisms. The number of different species is a mystery. Some biologists believe thereto be a mind-boggling 30 million plant and animal species sharing the resources of our planet and forming the delicate network that keeps life functioning. Scientists call this explosive variety of living beings on our Earth biological diversity.
Most of us are aware that the Earth and all of its life forms are in peril from the way that humans have chosen to live and use the resources of the world. Earth is in need of our nurturing love and compassion, and we are very much dependent on the good health of Earth for our food, air, water, clothing, and building materials. While you grow in your spiritual and physical well being, don’t forget to love the Earth, learn what you can about how to live gently and with the limited natural resources we have. Join with me in embracing Earth and all of life in healing, loving energy each day.
Look to this website for posting of group energy healing opportunities, and meditations IN nature, FOR nature, as we step up to our responsibilities as Earth Holders.

If all the beasts were gone, man would surely die of a great loneliness of spirit.

For lovely spring, a quote by Iris Murdoch: People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.
